APPLICATION:
Medium voltage cable provides a reliable power source in the event of unpredictable power outage situations, power distribution to isolated areas.Medium-voltage cables are used in the industry, power production, power transfer and distribution, and at wind farms. In addition, these medium-voltage cables are used in public transportation infrastructures, for example, to power up train and metro lines.

CONSTRUCTION:
Conductor
Compacted stranded - Class 2, Annealed / Plain Copper / Aluminium
Conductor Screening
Conductors for cables rated above 3.3 kV are screened with an extruded layer of semiconducting compound.
Insulation
The insulation shall be of dry – cured XLPE compound
Non - Metallic Insulation Screening
The insulation screening above 3.3 kV Cables consist of a layer of extruded semiconducting compound.
Mettalic Insulation Screening
Bare annealed copper tape / copper wire are applied over insulation screen to carry fault current.
Laying Up.
Insulated cores are laid up together, interstices filled up with non hygroscopic fillers to make the cable circular.
Inner Sheath
The cable cores are provided with a common covering of extruded PVC/PE sheath
Armouring
GI Round wire / Flat wire (Strip) / Double steel tape armouring is applied over the inner sheath in case of three core cables.
Outer Sheath
The cables are provided with an extruded PVC / PE / LSZH / FR / FRLS outer sheath over the armour
